Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide support for electrical engineering in power transmission projects. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with high-voltage equipment. Responsibilities include project planning, coordination with internal and external teams, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in power transmission projects.
• Experience with high-voltage equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for project planning, execution, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with OEMs and design teams for engineering deliverables.
• Review technical documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Support site teams in resolving technical issues during installation.
• Liaise with procurement and quality teams to ensure timely equipment delivery.
• Assist in preparing method statements and commissioning plans.
• Submit weekly progress reports to the project manager.

Overview

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical engineering coordination for plant-related equipment such as 400kV GIS, shunt reactors and associated systems on the ICAD V project.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for project planning, execution, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with OEMs and design teams for engineering deliverables related to 400kV GIS, shunt reactors, and other associated equipment.
• Review technical documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Support site teams in resolving technical issues during installation and testing.
• Liaise with procurement and quality teams to ensure timely delivery and inspection of electrical equipment.
• Assist in preparing method statements, test procedures, and commissioning plans.
• Prepare and submit the weekly progress reports to the project manager, detailing the status of ongoing activities.

Qualification & Experience

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Experience:

• A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in power transmission projects, preferably involving high-voltage equipment.
