Job description
Job Title – Electrical Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced, hands‑on technical professional with strong practical experience in electric motors across Low Voltage (LV), Medium Voltage (MV), and High Voltage (HV) ranges.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of squirrel‑cage and slip‑ring motors, international standards (IEC, NEMA, ATEX), and strong application experience, particularly in water pumps and HVAC systems.

This role is application‑and‑execution driven, not a pure R&D position. It is best suited for an engineer who enjoys working in a growing, fast‑moving organization rather than a large corporate structure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Application Engineering & Technical Support
    • Review, validate, and optimize motor selections for LV, MV, and HV motors, including squirrel‑cage and slip‑ring designs.
    • Support applications mainly related to:
      • Water pumps (booster, centrifugal, vertical, firefighting, desalination, irrigation).
      • HVAC systems (chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, ventilation).
    • Perform derating and technical evaluations for:
      • High ambient temperatures (50 °C / 55 °C).
      • VFD‑driven motors.
      • Continuous and heavy‑duty applications.
    • Support sales and management during consultant clarifications and technical discussions.
  2. Factory & Supplier Technical Coordination
    • Act as the main technical interface between client and partner factories.
    • Review and approve:
      • Motor technical designs and deviations.
      • Component selections (bearings, insulation systems, cooling methods).
      • Performance data and compliance documentation.
    • Ensure consistency between factory output and client technical standards.
  3. Standards, Compliance & Certifications
    • Ensure compliance with:
      • IEC 60034 series.
      • NEMA MG‑1.
      • IE2 / IE3 / IE4 / IE5.
      • ATEX / Explosion‑proof motors (Gas & Dust).
    • Review and manage:
      • ATEX certificates and cross‑listing structures.
      • Test reports, markings, and nameplates.
    • Act as client's internal technical authority.
  4. Technical Documentation & Standardization
    • Prepare, review, and standardize:
      • Technical data sheets.
      • GA drawings.
      • Nameplate logic and markings.
      • Technical catalog content.
    • Ensure consistency across LV, MV, and HV product ranges.
  5. Quality & Continuous Improvement
    • Support quality investigations and root‑cause analysis.
    • Coordinate corrective actions with factories.
    • Recommend technical improvements to enhance reliability.
    • Contribute to client's long‑term engineering roadmap.
Software & Tools
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (review and verification of GA drawings).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel (technical comparisons, derating, data analysis).
  • Ability to review and mark up PDF drawings and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with ERP / PLM systems is an advantage (This is NOT a CAD design role).
Qualifications & Experience
  • Mandatory:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Hands‑on experience with LV, MV, and HV motors.
    • Squirrel‑cage and slip‑ring motors.
    • Strong understanding of IEC, NEMA, and ATEX.
    • Practical experience in water pump and HVAC applications.
    • Experience working with motor manufacturers, OEMs, or distributors.
