Job summary

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Engineering or 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience in a related position / comparable role involving exposure to design engineering and managing multiple projects.
• Proven understanding of wiring standards including but not limited to BS7671 - 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
• Aptitude for problem solving and ability to apply this to electrical control design.
• An adaptability to respond to a fast-moving business environment.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Display a proactive flexible approach to working within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design drawings and documentation for Switchgear Manufacturing.
• Review tender information and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Review electrical design drawings compiled by junior design engineers and mentor them.
• Develop new practices and processes to improve department performance.
• Ensure products comply with IEC/IET/IEE standards and electrical regulations.
• Collaborate with project management to meet timelines on multiple projects.
• Develop software for standard control equipment and create test scripts to validate control schemes.
