Job summary

TAQA Transmission seeks an Electrical Competent Person with hands-on experience in Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL) to supervise electrical activities on site and ensure compliance with TAQA standards and safe work practices.

The role requires a B.Tech./B.E./Diploma in Electrical Engineering and a TAQA-approved Electrical CP certification, with readiness for immediate joining on UAE/GCC projects.

Qualifications

• B.Tech./B.E./Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• TAQA Transmission-approved Electrical Competent Person certification/approval.
• Hands-on experience in Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety, isolation and work-permit procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure safe execution of electrical activities associated with OHTL projects.
• Act as the designated Electrical Competent Person in accordance with TAQA Transmission requirements.
• Ensure electrical works are carried out in compliance with approved procedures, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Conduct and support electrical isolation, switching, testing, and related safety procedures as authorized.
• Identify electrical hazards and implement appropriate control measures before and during work.
• Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, HSE teams, and other site personnel.
• Verify work permits, electrical safety requirements, and site readiness before commencement of work.
• Monitor compliance with TAQA and project HSE requirements and report unsafe conditions or deviations.
• Maintain relevant electrical documentation, checklists, permits, and inspection records.

• Candidates available for immediate joining will be preferred.
