Job summary

Ebara Elliott Energy in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced EHS leader to implement global EHS strategies for EMA field service and service center operations. You will mitigate risks in field and workshop settings and drive continual EHS improvement across the EMA region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental and/or Health and Safety Science or equivalent with 5–7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and written communication skills at all levels.
  • Experience in turbomachinery repair/service context and EMA region EHS regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and manages EHS programs and systems globally with emphasis on workshop facilities.
  • Supports creation and implementation of EHS strategic plans within area of responsibility.
  • Leads implementation of EHS systems compliant with ISO requirements.
  • Manages interfaces with regulatory agencies and external EHS counsel.
  • Oversees third party certification, customer audits, and qualifications.
  • Collaborates with EHS colleagues to standardize processes and share best practices.
  • Manages incident investigations, trends, and prevention opportunities.
  • Evaluates EHS data to drive Elliott-specific programs and improvements.
  • Reviews environmental health and safety audits and emergency exercises.

Purpose of Job

Directly support and implement the strategies for Global EHS and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMA) Field Service and Service Center operations. Identify and mitigate risk related to field and workshop operations by implementing controls to reduce liabilities and associated financial costs related to EHS.

Purpose of Job

Directly support and implement the strategies for Global EHS and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMA) Field Service and Service Center operations. Identify and mitigate risk related to field and workshop operations by implementing controls to reduce liabilities and associated financial costs related to EHS.

This position will manage EHS compliance and process conformance, facilitate management of EHS issues and risks, and drive continual improvement from a holistic EHS perspective for the EMA region.

Specific Job Responsibilities
  • Supervises and manages EHS programs and systems that are utilized by the organization globally with an emphasis in single workshop facility, region, or business unit. Deploys Corporate Elliott EHS policy throughout the area of responsibility.
  • Supports creation of and implementation of the EHS strategic plan within area of responsibility and supports business unit leadership with EHS matters.
  • Develops and leads implementation of EHS systems including the identification of internal processes and procedures compliant to ISO requirements.
  • Manages the strategic interface with external regulatory agencies and external EHS legal counsel.
  • Manages third party certification, customer audits, and customer qualifications
  • Working with EHS colleagues to identify better practices, establish directives, standardize key processes, and deploy within the area of responsibility.
  • Manage the incident investigation process to ensure root cause(s) are identified and mitigated, identify incident and near miss trends, identify best practices, and implement opportunities for incident prevention.
  • Evaluate incident, observation, and other EHS data to identify trends, create, and implement Elliott specific EHS programs and processes to drive improvements.
  • Reviews the results of environmental health and safety audits and emergency response exercises within the area of responsibility.
Required Background And Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental and/or Health and Safety Science or related field (or equivalent relevant experience) plus a minimum of 5-7 years of applicable experience in an industrial or petrochemical environment.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and written skills is required, as this position must interact with all levels within Elliott, Elliott subcontractors', and Elliott customers' organizations.
  • Experience of working in Turbomachinery Repair and Maintenance business with focus on Service Center and Repair Workshop operations.
  • Working knowledge of EHS regulatory framework (particularly for EMA region) and EHS management systems.
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, databases, and internet based systems) required.
  • NEBOSH IGC qualification
  • Experience with EHS management systems (ISO 45001 and/or OHSAS 18001), desired.
  • ASP, CSP, or CHMM or equivalent certification desired.
  • Experience working in a benzene/hydrocarbon exposure environment, confined space, working at height & lifting activities arrangements is preferred
  • First Aid Certificate is highly preferred
Base Location & Work Schedule

This is a full time permanent position based in KEZAD Free Zone in Abu Dhabi.
