Job description

Job Purpose

Join our Engine Maintenance Centre, a cutting-edge maintenance facility, where we deliver exceptional Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services for the engines of Emirates’ fleets. Our integrated team excels in Engine Technical Services (ETS), Propulsion Planning and Logistics, and more, all within our advanced Engine Shops and Test Cell. With a strong commitment to quality and safety, we streamline processes to strip, inspect, and rebuild engines seamlessly in one state-of-the-art location. Join us to be part of a team where precision and excellence drive every operation. As a Production Planning Officer at EEMC, you will plan, execute, and deliver materials coordination, estimation, work pack preparation, closure activities, and workshop planning within the engine maintenance organisation. You will assist Production Planning Engineers in delivering their responsibilities and support the Production team in the execution of maintenance activities. You will ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the highest standards of airworthiness, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

In This Role, You Will
  • Provide supervision, training, and guidance to reporting team members.
  • Act as deputy to the immediate supervisor when required.
  • Participate in projects to continuously improve Production Planning Services.
Materials Coordination
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders as required to ensure pre-draw requirements, including modification kits, are delivered before engine input and in line with agreed production schedules.
  • Provide recommendations on task withdrawals based on part availability and lead times that do not support the planned workflow.
  • Review all material requests for ongoing checks to identify available stock and coordinate deliveries based on order priority. Monitor duplicate requests and cancel or adjust them as required.
    • Determine the best solution for material shortages and coordinate with the Material Organisation / FTM on part basic set-up.
  • Coordinate all Ship Shop Ship (SSS), Task 2, and repair orders to ensure components are returned to the engine in accordance with workflow plan requirements or that suitable alternatives are sourced.
    • Ensure all SSS and Task 2 components are dispatched with the required information.
  • Ensure all relevant stakeholders are kept informed of material status throughout the check, particularly for items that may impact workflow execution.
    • Provide daily reports to Production Planning Engineers and production teams.
  • Monitor actual material usage against budget and provide feedback to production teams on opportunities to reduce material costs, including the return of unused parts.
  • Coordinate robbery activities for assigned events, ensuring robbery messages are issued and robbed parts are processed through the virtual robbery store to control R-Class costs.
  • Coordinate all material-related closure activities at the end of each input, including:
    • DBNU clean-up and feedback to the Planning Organisation to support future DBNU reduction.
    • Review material expenditure, including parts, quantities, and costs, and provide recommendations on future stock levels, contingency spare orders, and unusual ordering trends.
Work Pack Management
  • Deliver and supervise the preparation and compilation of work packages for assigned events, from handover by CAMO through to handover to the production team. Continuously update work packs as supplements are added or tasks withdrawn.
  • Conduct technical reviews of tasks raised by Maintenance Planning to identify task intent, special requirements (jacking, defueling, repairs, workshop inputs, test flights, etc.), dependencies, material requirements, tooling requirements, supporting task cards, and any other information that supports the planning process. Ensure all issues identified are followed up with the relevant departments and resolved before the start of each input.
  • Ensure work packages are segregated into work zones and trades in line with the workflow plan to support efficient execution of maintenance inputs. Ensure work packs are displayed in the production area as required.
  • Actively support DBNU reduction for routine tasks by working with Material Coordinators to identify root causes and implement the necessary adjustments to task spares set-ups. Adjust MQs in UM to align with daily task requirements.
  • Receive and complete audits of all paperwork prior to CRS, ensuring compliance with EPM and quality requirements. Return any non-compliant paperwork to Production for correction and log it for error reporting.
  • Complete all required system transactions, including task status tracking in the Part-145 task tracking system, task card closure, and work pack closure in UM. Generate a post-check completion report, distribute it to relevant stakeholders, and dispatch completed work packs to Technical Records.
  • Create maintenance facilitation procedures and tasks as required to support planned maintenance activities.
Estimation
  • Produce detailed man-hour (MH) estimates for each assigned event to support workflow and manpower planning.
  • Highlight first-time tasks, tasks with high man-hour and access requirements, expected defects based on historical trends, and other activities impacting the production workflow as part of the detailed estimate report for each maintenance input.
  • Maintain and update the estimation database for the Emirates fleet, ensuring all new tasks are broken down by task steps, trade-specific estimated MH, concurrent task requirements, and access panel requirements.
  • Perform defect analysis on completed inputs, focusing on non-routine estimation while considering check type, engine type, age, and in-service issues to determine technical impacts on future layovers.
  • Produce post-input man-hour analyses covering clocking performance and labour utilisation.
  • Review Production Planning feedback discrepancies and support Engineering departments by addressing documentation discrepancies, man-hour variances, and recommending improvements to AMM and other fleet-related manuals.
Workshops
  • Ensure all planned work is packaged, segregated into daily activities, and issued to Production. Maintain visibility of daily workload progress and update WO status to reflect material or resource shortages.
  • For SSS and Task 2 activities, highlight major defects and schedule impacts to the Workshop Engineer through effective and timely communication.
  • Coordinate the addition of PNs to the capability list as required.
  • Update and publish daily progress reports.
  • Monitor open WOs for man-hour utilisation, material status, and work progress, updating WO status daily as required.
Qualification
  • Diploma in Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance, or Basic GCAA Licence, or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical).
  • 2.5 years of relevant experience in Aircraft/Engine Maintenance or Production Planning within an airline or third‑party maintenance organisation, preferably in aircraft scheduling, maintenance planning, production planning, or a related environment.
    • Candidates holding a Diploma or Basic GCAA Licence must have at least 2.5 years of relevant experience.
    • Candidates holding a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering must have at least 1.5 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Good understanding of aircraft/engine documentation and records, including Engine Maintenance Manuals (EMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC), Work Packages, and Maintenance Schedules.
  • Knowledge of aircraft/engine systems, powerplants, and components.
  • Familiarity with aircraft/engine regulatory requirements and aviation legislation.
  • Working knowledge of the Ultramain system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
