Review Project Documentation:
- Review Material Submittals, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements related to civil, Mechanical, and Electrical works to ensure compliance with project requirements and provide feedback to Works Agency QA/QC Manager.
Civil Inspection Activities:
- Conduct inspections at various stages of construction to verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with project specifications and standards in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
- Verify that construction activities align with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
- Inspect and verify the quality of materials, including soil, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and other construction materials used in roads, drainage systems, and related infrastructure.
- Monitor construction activities such as earthworks, asphalt paving, concrete works, installation of drainage pipes, culverts, manholes, and structures like retaining walls, bridges, tunnels, and dams.
Mechanical Inspection Activities:
- Inspect all mechanical installations, including piping, structural supports, and mechanical equipment, to ensure adherence to design specifications and drawings.
- Verify proper alignment, leveling, and positioning of equipment such as pumps and associated installations.
- Ensure proper installation of piping systems, including welding, flange connections, and fittings, following isometric drawings.
- Monitor welding activities, including verification of welding procedures, welder qualifications, and welding consumables.
- Inspect weld quality using visual inspection, dimensional checks, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
- Ensure mechanical works comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Oversee field tests such as hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, and equipment performance tests.
- Witness and verify pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including SAT/FAT, functionality tests, and calibration of safety devices, valves, and gauges.
Electrical Inspection Activities:
- Inspect installation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and control systems.
- Verify proper cable routing, labeling, and termination as per drawings and specifications.
- Check that conduits, trays, and supports meet design and safety standards.
- Ensure adherence to electrical safety codes, including proper grounding and protection devices.
- Monitor Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures during electrical work.
- Oversee tests such as insulation resistance, earth resistance, High-Pot, and circuit continuity testing.
- Verify compliance of electrical panels, switches, and breakers with specifications.
- Witness and verify commissioning activities, including SAT/FAT, functional testing, calibration, and system energization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in QC roles related to road and infrastructure construction.
