Job description

Job Description: Structural / Civil Inspector

The Structural / Civil Inspector will ensure that contractors comply with contract documents, coordinate daily with other teams to document and verify the quality and quantity of work performed, process incoming Inspection Requests and technical submittals, and perform necessary actions.

  1. Read and understand the contract package documents, detailed drawings, specifications, health and safety measures, and associated updates.
  2. Ensure contractors comply with standards and specifications through observation, measurements, testing, and tracking quality assurance progress.
  3. Maintain records of contractor manpower and equipment resources daily.
  4. Undertake site supervision and inspections as required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
  5. Document activities of contractors' personnel and equipment, including location, reasons, and methods used.
  6. Report on material deliveries and implement site instructions, applying all quality controls and procedures.
  7. Prepare site measurements and surveying checks as needed.
  8. Monitor conformance to quality, performance, and code requirements through inspections.
  9. Monitor health and safety on site and report violations.
Specific Skills Required
  • Good knowledge of construction methodologies, finishes, and building codes.
  • Experience with various building types, especially horizontal development, mixed-use residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality projects.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation.
  • Detailed knowledge of construction techniques.

Qualifications

Experience in structural-related projects, with a minimum of 7 years overall experience, including at least 5 years in the UAE, preferably in construction supervision with a consultancy.

Qualification: A Diploma in Engineering is required for the Inspector position; a related Degree is preferred for advancement to Engineer level.
