Job Overview:

Joseph Advertisers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of quantity surveying on a range of projects, ensuring that the company's financial and contractual commitments are met. This will be a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of the company while working on dynamic and high-end projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Monitoring & Control:

  • Track project progress, cost performance, and deliverables as per project plans.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure milestones are met and risks are identified and managed.

Cost Estimation & Budgeting:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for projects, ensuring they align with the company's financial objectives.
  • Advise project teams on cost-effective solutions and the impact of design changes.

Tendering & Contract Management:

  • Prepare and issue tender documents, evaluate tenders, and provide recommendations for contractor selection.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts and ensure the company is protected in terms of risk management.

Cost Control & Reporting:

  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within budget throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts for senior management.

Contract Administration:

  • Administer contracts, including ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and specifications.
  • Resolve any contractual issues or disputes with clients, subcontractors, or suppliers.

Value Engineering:

  • Conduct value engineering assessments to optimize costs without compromising quality.
  • Recommend alternatives that will enhance project value.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors, providing guidance on technical and professional matters.
  • Assist with training and development initiatives within the team.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers to ensure project goals are met.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and contractors.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quantity surveying.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and complex contracts.
  • Experience in both pre-contract and post-contract phases.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, contract law, and cost management practices.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
