Position Objective

We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Counsel with drafting experience (ideally with large law firm TMT-practice group training), with 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience to join our legal team on a full time, permanent basis. The primary focus of this role will be on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supply contracts and basic corporate documents during peak periods of activity, ensuring compliance and protecting the organization's interests.

Responsibilities

Contract Drafting and Review:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including commercial agreements, service contracts, NDAs.
  • Assist in managing relationships with stakeholders, including clients, and partners.
  • Ensure that all contractual terms comply with relevant laws and company policies.

Legal Advice and Support:

  • Provide clear and practical legal advice to internal teams, ensuring that the organization's interests are protected in business transactions.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify legal risks and provide solutions to mitigate those risks.

Internal Legal Functions:

  • Support business functions in resolving day-to-day legal issues related to contracts and operations.

Legal Documentation:

  • Assist in the development and standardization of legal templates and contract terms.
  • Review and update internal legal procedures and documentation to improve efficiency and minimise legal risks.

Reporting and Administration:

  • Keep accurate records of legal documents, including contracts, and renewals.
  • Provide regular updates to the legal team members on caseload matters.

Requirements

Education:

  • Qualified lawyer with 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • LLB or equivalent legal qualification required.

Experience:

  • Strong experience in drafting and reviewing contracts, particularly commercial agreements.
  • Familiarity with UAE laws and regulations related to contract law and corporate governance.
  • Experience in a group corporate or commercial legal environment is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in using legal management software (e.g., Practical Law).
