Role Expectations

Property Duty Manager / Guest Relations Manager

The Property Duty Manager oversees all property operations to ensure the highest levels of hospitality and service are consistently delivered. Acting as the representative of property management, this role resolves guest or property-related concerns promptly while ensuring smooth operations across all departments.

In the absence of the General Manager and Director of Operations, the Duty Manager assumes full responsibility for maintaining the property across both Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) areas. This position replaces the requirement for a traditional Manager on Duty and acts as the senior leadership presence on property, empowered to make operational decisions, address issues, and ensure seamless continuity of management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Engagement & Lobby Management: Serve as Guest Relations Manager, greeting and assisting guests in the lobby. Anticipate and address guest needs, handle service issues, and ensure follow-up. Assist individuals with disabilities and ensure all guests feel welcomed and appreciated.
  • Operational Oversight: Represent senior management in resolving guest or property-related issues. Manage the flow of guest inquiries, directing them to appropriate departments. Ensure compliance with brand service standards and property policies. Document shift handovers and significant matters in daily logs/memo books.
  • Front Office & Cashiering: Complete cashier and daily closing reports in the system. Process guest check-ins/outs: confirm reservations, verify identity, assign rooms, and issue keys. Upsell available accommodations while ensuring rate accuracy and market code compliance. Process outlet checks (e.g., spa, retail) and charge to guest accounts correctly.
  • Team Leadership: Support management in training, coaching, and motivating associates. Uphold the Guarantee of Fair Treatment / Open Door Policy. Act as the first point of contact for associates requiring leadership guidance in the absence of senior management. Model professional conduct, appearance, and brand service values.
  • Safety & Compliance: Report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions immediately. Complete required safety certifications and ensure team adherence to protocols. Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisors or Senior Management.
