Job summary

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in Dubai seeks a Professional Designer Interiors/Architecture with a strong conceptual design ability and deep knowledge of interiors and architecture. The role requires Revit proficiency, BIM tools familiarity, and active pursuit of professional licensure with LEED awareness.

A minimum of four years of experience is expected, alongside excellent communication skills in English and proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design.
• High proficiency in Revit; familiar with BIM tools and digital design tools such as Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Ladybug, Enscape, VR and the ADOBE Suite.
• Professional licensure process is close to completion; LEED accreditation strongly preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of experience or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Understanding of sustainable strategies and LEED or other green building rating systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Actively supports compliance with BIM/CAD project standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Creates and innovates with a strong conceptual design ability and integrates interdisciplinary criteria to move forward the design of large projects or small-scale components.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of interiors and architectural materials, building systems, codes, design and detailing standards, and construction techniques; documents at all project phases.
• Shows advanced knowledge of interior architecture, workplace planning, design concept development, documentation, and FF&E selection and specs.
• Manages time and workload of own work and of others to meet deadlines; guides and mentors less experienced staff.
• Leads with example, mentors staff, defines team expectations, and contributes to project budgets, deliverables and schedule.
• Contributes to development of standards, policies, and procedures; protects firm from financial and legal risk.
