Job summary
Apparel Group in Dubai seeks an Assistant Manager - Distribution Center to oversee daily operations of automated systems and lead a technical team on maintenance and upgrades. The role focuses on uptime, throughput, and project execution in a fast-moving fashion retail distribution center.
The candidate will mentor automation engineers, coordinate with OEMs, and ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations while driving cost-efficient improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering; automation certifications preferred.
- 5-7 years in warehouse automation or engineering with 2-3 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial capacity.
- Experience with maintenance planning, safety practices, and project execution.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of automated systems (conveyors, sorters, AS/RS, robotics).
- Ensure system uptime and performance against KPIs (uptime, throughput, cycle time).
- Monitor and coordinate with operations and maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Supervise preventive maintenance schedules for automation equipment.
- Lead automation engineers, supervisors, and technicians to maintain high technical standards.
- Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and vendors for projects and documentation.
- Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance KPIs, and project progress.
