Job summary

• Report to Drilling Forman or Barge Superintendent; drill and under-ream pile sockets for offshore operations (jackets, trestle piles, SBMS, mooring and anchor piles).
• Operate drilling units Wirth and Bowen; repair and maintain machines; notify PMV or concerned department of mechanical failures.
• Maintain rock bits ensuring availability; repair as needed and keep them in good condition.
• Report malfunctions of drilling tools to Plant office; ensure tools are tested and operational; coordinate with stores to check stock levels and update NPCC Drilling Manual.

Job description

• Reporting to Drilling Forman or Barge Superintendent. Responsible for drilling and under reaming pile sockets for various offshore operations - jackets, trestle piles ‘SBMS’, breasting dolphins, mooring and anchor piles, etc.
• Responsible for the operation of various drilling units - Wirth (pile top units) and Bowen, as well as the repair and maintenance of these machines. Any mechanical failures to be notified to PMV or concerned department with proper  follow-up
• In‑charge of maintaining the rock bits  with regards its availability. Repair as and when required and keep them in good condition
• Responsible for reporting any malfunction of the drilling tools to Plant office and ensure that it is fully tested and operational at all times. Checking the drilling related parts with the main stores  regularly and advise on stock levels  to NOD/Plant. He should maintain the NPCC Drilling Manual by updating with latest information and with a list of inventory.
