Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to perform routine testing, calibration and maintenance of lab equipment. You will manage chemical stocks, prepare reagents and ensure proper labeling and storage of samples in compliance with safety and QA/QC standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and at least 3 years of lab experience, preferably in oilfield chemicals or drilling fluids.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field required.
Minimum 3 years of proven laboratory experience.
Experience with drilling fluids, oilfield chemicals, or related industry preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspection, cleaning and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Maintain equipment usage, maintenance, verification and calibration records.
Report damaged or out-of-calibration equipment and ensure it is not used until released.
Monitor laboratory stocks of chemicals, reagents, consumables and reporting replenishment needs.
Prepare laboratory reagents and standard solutions per approved procedures.
Identify, label and store chemicals, samples and reagents correctly.
Maintain SDSs and ensure accessibility for chemicals used in the laboratory.
Record test conditions, observations and results on approved worksheets or systems.
Perform routine QA/QC testing of incoming materials and finished products against specs.
Assist with testing and evaluation of new products and formulations.
Conduct routine drilling-fluid tests (density, rheology, filtration, etc.).
Record deviations and report safety or quality concerns to Lab Engineer or Supervisor.
