Qualifications

• Medical Degree from an accredited institution and licensed to practice medicine.
• Experience in a medical setting is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostic equipment, medical procedures, laboratory tests, and medications.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients and diagnose their illnesses or injuries.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, x-rays or other diagnostic images.
• Prescribe medications or treatments as necessary.
• Talk with patients about their health concerns and answer questions.
• Monitor patient progress by recording vital signs such as blood pressure or temperature.
• Refer patients to specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
• Ensure that patient records are up to date with accurate information about diagnosis, treatments and medications.
• Provide advice on diet, hygiene and preventive healthcare measures.
• Provide emergency care when necessary.
