Director of Sales

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for establishing and directing the sales activities of an organization.
  • Develops sales plan and budget to reflect the company’s and the hotel’s goals and objectives in maximizing revenue generation and profitability.
  • Provides leadership in the areas of Sales and works closely with Director of Distributions & Revenue Optimizations, Director of Marketing and other division heads—directing, managing and coordinating an efficient and effective sale and marketing plan for the hotel.
  • Creates and oversees the implementation of special programs following the business plan to ensure sales objectives are achieved through:
    • Increasing average rate
    • Increasing overall occupancy
    • Enhancing the image of the hotel in the local community
  • Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs and results.
  • Works closely with Corporate Sales in managing and supervising the sales department.
  • Maintains and upgrades communication networks to ensure that the hotel has a competitive advantage in information and sales leads.
  • Furnishes monthly sales report on a timely basis to the general manager and corporate office.
  • Appraises performance of Sales personnel in managerial level periodically according to Human Resources policy and initiates appropriate corrective measures to improve deficiencies.
  • Manages the Sales department to ensure sufficiency of manpower in accordance to volume of business.
  • Ensures each staff is a good salesperson to promote the hotel’s image and businesses at all times.
  • Coaches and counsels all staff especially the department and unit managers when applicable.
  • Provides and supports the most effective training to all sales staff regularly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the general manager.
REPORT LINE & COMMUNICATION

Reports to the General Manager and working closely with Director of Distributions & Revenue Optimizations and Director of Marketing.

Coordinates with all concerned personnel to ensure that all activities are accomplished.

Communicates effectively with guests, clients, business partners and staff.

  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.

JOB REQUIREMENT
  • Minimum education of Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Hotel Management or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a 5‑star class environment.
  • Have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Have a positive attitude toward challenges and the drive to excel.
  • Possesses professional disposition with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
