Job summary

Client of Involved Solutions is seeking a Director of IT Infrastructure to own strategy and delivery across network, cloud and service desk. The role leads internal leaders, manages external vendors and controls budgets to underpin technology delivery across the Group.

The ideal candidate has 12–15 years in IT infrastructure with senior leadership progression, deep network/cloud experience and strong business acumen to operate at Group level across geographies.

Qualifications

• 12–15 years of IT infrastructure experience with progression into senior leadership.
• Deep expertise across network, cloud and service desk in large organisations.
• Proven experience managing third-party vendors and SLAs.
• Strong budget management including cloud FinOps.
• Experience leading multi-functional teams across geographies.
• Credible with senior leadership and strong stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in diversified or multinational environments is advantageous.

Job description

We have partnered with a large diversified conglomerate with a global footprint to hire a Director of IT Infrastructure. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of the infrastructure backbone that keeps a complex multinational business running. Across network, cloud and service desk this person will lead the internal teams, manage the external partners and control the budgets that underpin how technology is delivered across the Group. For an infrastructure leader who wants scope, scale and genuine influence this is a rare seat. This role suits someone who combines deep technical infrastructure knowledge with the commercial and leadership maturity to run a function at Group level across multiple geographies.

About the role

• Own the strategy, performance and delivery of IT infrastructure across network, cloud and service desk functions for the Group
• Lead and develop the internal leaders heading each function, building a high-performing infrastructure organisation
• Manage third party outsourced vendors holding them to account on performance, service levels and commercial terms
• Own infrastructure budgets across the Group with a particular focus on FinOps and the management of cloud consumption and cost
• Drive reliability, security and scalability across all infrastructure environments ensuring the business can operate and grow with confidence
• Partner with senior technology and business leadership to align infrastructure capability with the strategic priorities of the Group
• Establish governance standards and reporting that give leadership clear visibility on infrastructure performance and spend

• 12 to 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a clear track record of progression into senior leadership
• Deep expertise across network, cloud and end-user or service desk functions within large, complex organisations
• Proven experience managing third party outsourced vendors and holding them accountable to service and commercial standards
• Strong commercial and budget management skills, with hands-on experience of cloud FinOps and controlling cloud consumption at scale
• Experience leading and developing multi-functional infrastructure teams, ideally across multiple geographies
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the credibility to operate at senior leadership level
• Experience within a diversified group, conglomerate or multinational environment is a strong advantage
