Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a nursing degree with RN licensure, BLS, and at least two years in nephrology nursing, ready to work in a high-acuity unit and maintain clinical competencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (minimum of three years full-time course duration) or Degree in Nursing with Registration as a Registered Nurse and valid licenses.
• Must hold a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Minimum of two years post-graduate experience in Nephrology Nursing.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care and ability to coordinate and plan care.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and maintain clinical competencies.

Responsibilities

• Provides age-specific patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process.
• Performs patient assessment using appropriate, problem-focused, and age-specific techniques.
• Performs continual critical care assessment of patient and family's needs.
• Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care.
• Inserts vascular access needles into AVF/AVG for hemodialysis and initiates sessions per protocol.
• Starts and performs hemodialysis sessions and maintains catheter care per protocol.
