Qualifications

Job Description

Job Overview: The Accountant – Financial Reporting is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records by performing general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close activities. This role ensures compliance with internal controls and accounting standards, supports audit processes, and collaborates with other finance functions to ensure the integrity of financial data. The position plays a key role in supporting the financial reporting process and contributes to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the finance department

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily General Ledger (GL) and reconciliation activities, ensuring accurate financial transaction recording and timely month/quarter/year‑end closings.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Analyze GL data to identify trends and variances, supporting accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Support audits by preparing schedules and ensuring adherence to GAAP/IFRS and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional finance teams and stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and improve reporting workflows.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen internal controls.

About you: The preferred candidate for this role should possess the following experience and credentials:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field
  • Working towards Professional Certifications preferred (CA, CPA, ACCA)

Experience: 1–2 years' experience in financial reporting and GL close; strong grasp of financial controls and governance; operationally strong with a customer‑centric mindset; ability to multitask in fast‑paced environments. Prior experience in finance shared services and the Middle East is preferred.

Technical Expertise:

  • Experience in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle Fusion, Workday
  • Experience in tools and technologies such as ARCS, RPA and AI‑driven analytics etc.
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles (GAAP/IFRS)
