Job summary

Sunmarke School in Dubai is seeking a Design Technology Teacher with an Electronics specialty to join our dynamic team. You will deliver Electronics-focused lessons across KS3–KS4, guiding students through circuit design, microcontrollers and product development in a state-of-the-art STEAM environment.

The role requires a strong background in Design & Technology with a PGCE/QA, QTS, and experience with I/GCSE/GCSE/IGCSE or A Level Electronics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent with PGCE and QTS (Design & Technology, Engineering, Electronics, Product Design or related).
• Proven track record of outstanding teaching of Electronics across KS3–KS4.
• Specialist expertise in Electronics: circuits, microcontrollers, embedded systems, design and product development.
• Experience teaching I/GCSE, GCSE/IGCSE, and/or A Level Design & Technology or Electronics.

Responsibilities

• Teach Electronics across KS3–KS4 with practical, hands-on learning.
• Deliver lessons using modern workshop equipment and CAD/CAM, lasers, and 3D printing.

About you:

We are looking for an exceptional practitioner who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of designers, engineers and innovators through practical, hands-on learning experiences.

About you:

• Be dynamic, enthusiastic and suitably qualified, holding, as a minimum, a B.Ed. or Bachelor's degree with a PGCE in Design & Technology, Engineering, Electronics, Product Design or a closely related discipline, together with QTS (or equivalent).
• Have a proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning, with experience teaching Electronics across Key Stages 3 & 4.
• Have specialist expertise in Electronics, with the ability to teach electronic systems, circuit design, microcontrollers, embedded systems, programming and product development.
• Be confident in delivering practical learning using modern workshop equipment and digital technologies, including CAD/CAM, laser cutters, 3D printers, CNC equipment and electronics prototyping platforms.
• Have experience teaching I/GCSE, IGCSE, and/or A Level Design & Technology, 3D Design or Electronics qualifications.
• Inspire creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial thinking through project-based learning and real-world design challenges.
• Emboday a growth mindset, being reflective, adaptable and solution-focused.
• Be creative, enthusiastic and forward-thinking, with the ability to motivate students of all abilities.
• Use assessment data effectively to inform planning, raise attainment and maximise student progress.
