Job summary

A leading construction and consultancy firm is seeking an experienced design manager to oversee project management on major refurbishment initiatives in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Architecture and over 12 years of experience in design and project management, particularly in GCC mega-projects including shopping malls. You will be responsible for ensuring effective design execution and client relationship management, contributing to a culture of safety and integrity within the team.

The project

Mace are providing project management services on multiple refurbishment and redevelopment projects within a major UAE shopping mall throughout design, delivery and handover.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Manage overall Design Management including client brief, design strategy, and execution.
  • Ensure cohesive design management across all Interior Design & Fit‑Out project stages.
  • Support scheduling of design reviews at gateways and control points.
  • Manage technical and constructability reviews of deliverables.
  • Monitor compliance with project brief and specifications.
  • Review of engineering proposals and contract changes.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary reviews for value engineering.
  • Validate consultant claims and ensure quality.
You’ll need to have:
  • Hold a degree in Architecture with 12+ years in design/project/program management.
  • Experience in GCC mega‑projects; shopping mall experience is required.
  • Interior Design/Fit‑Out project experience is preferred.
  • Understand local cultural, heritage, and environmental design aspects.
  • Proficient in CAD/BIM, familiar with industry codes and LEED principles.
  • Middle East experience is an advantage.
