About Your Team

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary Design & Engineering team, working closely with design managers, consultants, subcontractors, authority bodies, and internal construction teams. You’ll lead coordination efforts across civil, structural, architectural, and infrastructure works—ensuring compliance, consistency, and progress at every stage.

Your Role

As Design Coordinator, you will:

  • Review Tender and IFC information models issued by consultants (2D drawings, BIM models & asset data) as per ISO 19650.
  • Integrate competing or conflicting design elements to ensure project requirements are met smoothly.
  • Lead and guide teams responsible for major design components during both design and construction supervision stages.
  • Manage Civil, Structural, Architectural, and Infrastructure deliverables to ensure alignment with contract documents and project goals.
  • Support the Design Manager with the creation of key documents (Project Design Management Plan, PEP, QA/QC Plans, submittal schedules, etc.).
  • Ensure engineering strategies are aligned with business objectives across all phases—Pre-construction, Construction, and Post-construction.
  • Coordinate multi-discipline information and proactively identify and resolve constraints.
  • Prepare and raise RFIs & CVIs; ensure response clarity.
  • Assist in managing subcontractor works and flag technical deviations.
  • Ensure modelers/drafters have correct information for ALEC shop drawing updates; manage timely document submittals.
  • Delegate and review Design team assignments.
  • Ensure BIM management is embedded in the program.
  • Validate quality of information received from all stakeholders.
  • Ensure drawing production and distribution as per schedule.
  • Host and coordinate technical meetings and design workshops.
  • Coordinate project activities with subcontractors; monitor and report performance.
  • Support subcontractor coordination processes and reviews.
  • Track and follow up on DFCs, EIs, and DCRs.
  • Review shop drawings for compliance with contract and specifications.
  • Maintain and track drawing delivery schedules; manage document control for publishing.
  • Liaise with consultants to ensure timely approvals of drawings/documents.
  • Ensure awareness and application of specification requirements and contract obligations.
  • Collaborate with Planning to update the working program.
  • Support design abortive works claims due to IFC changes.
  • Contribute to and support the value engineering process.
  • Ensure accuracy of as-built/redline drawings—collect field data, coordinate with modelers, and validate final drawings.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture
  • Minimum 3 years in a Design Coordinator or Senior Architecture/Structure Coordinator role within the GCC
  • Contractor or Subcontractor experience preferred
  • Proficient in:
  • AutoCAD & Microsoft Office
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Reviewing in Revit, Revizto, and Navisworks
  • Strong organizational and technical review skills
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Team-oriented with a proactive and detail-focused mindset
  • Confident decision-maker with strong time management and stress-resilience
  • Experience in team mentorship and task delegation
