Overview

Responsibilities

• Examine patients’ skin, hair, and nails to identify conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, infections, and pigmentation issues.
• Take detailed patient histories, including lifestyle, family history, and prior treatments.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, skin biopsies, and allergy tests when require
• Prescribe topical, oral, or injectable medications.
• Perform dermatological procedures such as cryotherapy, excisions, cauterisation, laser treatments, and chemical peels.
• Provide wound care for skin injuries, burns, or post-surgical healing.
• Administer cosmetic dermatology treatments (if part of the medical centre’s services) such as Botox, fillers, or skin rejuvenation therapies.
• Advise patients on skincare routines, sun protection, and prevention of skin diseases.
• Educate on early detection of skin cancers and encourage regular screenings.
• Counsel on the impact of diet, stress, and lifestyle on skin health.
• Coordinate with other specialists (oncologists, endocrinologists, plastic surgeons) for multidisciplinary care.
• Refer patients to hospitals or specialized centres for advanced treatments when needed.
• Maintain accurate patient medical records.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations, infection control, and clinic protocols.
• Stay updated on the latest dermatological research, treatments, and technologies.
• Conduct skin health awareness programs or community outreach.
• Supervise junior doctors, nurses, or aestheticians.
• Participate in teledermatology consultations if offered by the centre.
