Job summary

Harrow International School Dubai is seeking a Deputy Head of Junior School to provide strategic and operational leadership across EYFS to Year 8, ensuring priorities translate into coordinated action and high standards of education, care and professional practice as Harrow Dubai grows.

Reporting to the Head of Junior School, the Deputy will line‑manage four Assistant Headteachers, coordinate safeguarding, school improvement and curriculum coherence, and act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead

Qualifications

• Degree with recognised teaching qualification (QTS)
• Significant leadership experience in a primary/junior school
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and practices
• Experience across EYFS to Year 8
• Evidence of leading and improving provision through evaluation and change

Responsibilities

• Set direction with the Head of Junior School and translate priorities into clear plans
• Line-manage four Assistant Headteachers and monitor impact
• Coordinate leadership across academic, pastoral, and co-curricular provision
• Lead safeguarding and recruitment induction in line with policy
• Contribute to school self-evaluation, improvement planning and KHDA/inspections
• Support growth and continuity across year groups from EYFS to Year 8
