Job summary

Al-Futtaim is seeking an Assistant Merchandiser - Fashion Retail in Dubai to support the Marks and Spencer merchandising operation. You will handle allocation, demand planning, catalogue buying, stock optimization, and trading analysis to improve product availability and sell-through across stores and online channels.

The role requires at least 3 years in fashion buying/merchandising, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP or similar planning tools.

Qualifications

• Candidates should hold a degree in Business Management or a related discipline and have at least 3 years of experience in fashion buying and merchandising at Assistant Merchandiser or Allocator level.
• Practical experience within a retail buying environment is essential.
• Exposure to MENA or European markets and familiarity with UK or European fashion brands would provide a strong advantage.
• Strong Excel capability is essential, together with proficiency in key Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage BTF settings and ratio balancing accurately to support effective merchandise allocation across the store network.
• Guide allocators on merchandising processes, systems, stock management practices, and allocation requirements.
• Support the implementation and operational use of the Invent Analytics AI Allocation solution.
• Analyze store-level requirements and regional demand patterns to determine appropriate stock and size availability.
• Maintain regular contact with stores to identify stock gaps, local demand variations, and product availability issues.
• Improve sell-through and merchandise availability by refining allocation decisions using trading and inventory data.
• Produce accurate merchandising reports and maintain consistent reporting standards for business stakeholders.
• Review weekly trading results and identify actions based on sales trends, promotions, stock positions, and customer demand.
• Highlight best-selling and underperforming merchandise and investigate the commercial factors influencing performance.
• Analyze customer purchasing behavior and product preferences to support merchandising and range decisions.
