Job summary

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University seeks a hands-on Cybersecurity Specialist with expertise in penetration testing, security monitoring, vulnerability management, and governance. The role covers enterprise infra, SIEM platforms, cloud environments (Azure/AWS), AD, and web apps across the campus IT landscape.

You will review and strengthen security controls, participate in governance, risk assessments, and security audits, and collaborate with IT teams to elevate the university’s security

Qualifications

• Hands-on cybersecurity experience implementing and operating security controls in enterprise environments.
• Proven formal experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment across web, API, network and OS layers.
• Solid understanding of web apps, APIs, networks, and enterprise security principles.
• Experience with tools like Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit, and SIEM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Conduct penetration testing and security assessments of web apps, APIs, networks, servers, and AD environments.
• Identify vulnerabilities, assess risk, and provide remediation recommendations.
• Perform manual testing including OWASP Top 10 and OWASP API Top 10.
• Monitor security events via SIEM and security monitoring platforms.
• Support incident response, containment, remediation, and post-incident improvements.
• Develop and tune SIEM alerts, detection rules, and dashboards.
