Job summary

Help AG is seeking a Cyber Defense Lead in the UAE with extensive SOC experience to drive operations and incident response across managed services. You will oversee 24x7 on-call activities, coordinate with sales and project teams, and mentor security professionals to ensure SLA-driven delivery.

You will leverage SIEM, SOAR, and EDR tools to optimize processes, manage escalations, and improve threat detection capabilities, while aligning with ITIL practices and security standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field.
  • Minimum 8 years hands-on SOC operations experience including incident detection, response, threat hunting, and security monitoring tools.
  • Skills in Security Controls Operation, Incident Response, Security Operations, Managed Services, Threat Intelligence, Hunting and Vulnerability Management.
  • CISSP, CISM, CISA (or equivalent) experience.
  • ITIL Accreditation (or relevant experience).
  • Solid technical skills in SIEM, NGFW, CTI, WAF, and Managed Services delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership of Cyber Defense capability including optimization of people, process, and systems.
  • Support pre-sales, sales, and business development of new and existing services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver Cyber Defense services.
  • Support service transition and onboarding of customers into operations.
  • Lead proactive collaboration with peers to improve cyber defense capabilities.
  • Coordinate rapid detection, mitigation, containment, and response to incidents.
  • Document and optimize processes, procedures, and workflows; track SLAs and KPIs.
  • Initiate and manage incidents, problems, issues, risks, and compliance activities; on-call 24x7 as required.

Job description

Help AG is looking for a Cyber Defense Lead who will be responsible for Workflow Management, Shift Handover, Escalation and Prioritization of Cyber Defense Services and Activities during an allocated Shift. This role is the primary technical and operational escalation point for Shift Analysts delivering Cyber Defense Services (e.g., Managed Detection and Response). This role is accountable to the Senior Director MSS Operations for delivery according to agreed SLAs and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership of Cyber Defense Capability, including optimization of people, process, and systems.
  • Support Pre-sales, Sales, and Business Development of new and existing Services.
  • Work with Internal peers and External stakeholders to achieve effective and Sustainable Implementation and Delivery of Cyber Defense Services and associated service elements.
  • Support the Service Transition process; Work with peers to effectively Transition Customers and Infrastructure into Operations.
  • Work pro-actively and collaboratively with Peers (e.g., Managed Security Controls).
  • Support rapid and effective detection, mitigation, containment, and response to Cyber Security Incidents leveraging integrations with, and capabilities of, Infrastructure Platforms, Tools, Assets under Management, and non-Managed Customer Controls.
  • Creation, Optimization and Documentation of processes, procedures, and workflow; Tracking and Reporting of SLAs, KPIs and OLAs.
  • Initiate, Support and Manage Incidents, Problems, Issues, Risks and Compliance activities; 24x7 On-call for Critical or Urgent activities as required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) operations, including expertise in incident detection, response, threat hunting, team leadership, and security monitoring tools like SIEM, SOAR, and EDR solutions.
  • Skills in Security Controls Operation, Incident Response, Security Operations, Managed Services, Threat Intelligence, Hunting and Vulnerability Management.
  • CISSP, CISM, CISA (or equivalent experience).
  • ITIL Accreditation (or relevant experience).
  • Solid technical skills and understanding in Information Security Technologies (e.g., SIEM, NGFW, CTI, WAF), Delivery of Managed Services, Cyber Security Concepts and Standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing and mitigating Security Events, Threat, Attacks and Vulnerabilities.
  • Solid background in Cybersecurity and understanding of Cyber Security tools, infrastructure, and systems.
  • Outstanding Organizational Skills; Ability to lead and motivate skilled security professionals.
  • Active listener; Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Customer and Team-focused attitude.
  • Ability to interface with, and influence, Pre-Sales and Sales teams, to achieve agreed business outcomes.
