• Review and enhance country-specific content safety guidelines to reflect local laws and cultural sensitivities.
• Research local laws, regulations, cases, and credible sources across religion, politics, discrimination, adult content, violence, terrorism, and other sensitivities.
• Identify applicable local rules, gaps in guidelines, and recommend modifications with evidence.
• Define content risks and apply severity framework: Neutral, Minor, Strong, Critical.
• Create realistic, locally relevant examples and edge cases with reliable sources when available.
• Participate in guideline reviews, explain recommendations, and document ambiguous cases.

Country Content Safety & Policy Specialist - Middle East

Description

We are building a team of country specialists to support an AI content safety and moderation project for a global technology company.

The project involves reviewing existing content-safety guidelines and ensuring they appropriately reflect the laws, cultural context, religious considerations and social norms of specific countries.

This is not a translation role. We are looking for someone who can research, interpret and apply country-specific requirements and translate these into clear, practical content-safety guidance.

Key Tasks

• Review and enhance existing country-specific content safety and moderation guidelines to reflect local laws, cultural sensitivities, religious norms and country context.
• Research relevant local laws, regulations, published cases and credible sources across areas such as religion, politics, discrimination, adult content, violence, terrorism, illegal content and other cultural or ethical sensitivities.
• Identify which local rules apply, where existing guidelines have gaps, and recommend clear, evidence-based modifications.
• Define key content risks and apply the project's severity framework: Neutral, Minor, Strong and Critical.
• Develop realistic, locally relevant examples and edge cases showing how different content should be classified, supported by reliable sources where applicable.
• Participate in guideline reviews with the project team, explain recommendations, and help resolve and document ambiguous or previously undefined cases.

This is a Temporary/Contract on rotation job.
