ABOUT THE JOB COST ENGINEER
The Cost Engineer will be responsible for cost estimation, control, and reporting activities during the Engineering Phase (FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Detail Design) of ADNOC onshore oil & gas projects. The role ensures accurate project cost forecasting, monitoring, and compliance with ADNOCs project control standards and financial procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, review, and update project cost estimates and cost control procedures during FEED and Detailed Design stages.
- Prepare and maintain cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and expenditure tracking in line with project schedules.
- Monitor project budgets, commitments, and expenditures to ensure alignment with approved financial targets.
- Support development of Class 3 & Class 2 estimates, cost breakdown structures (CBS), and cost coding in accordance with ADNOC requirements.
- Conduct variance analysis between planned and actual costs and recommend corrective actions.
- Interface closely with planning, procurement, engineering, and project management teams to ensure cost data accuracy and integrity.
- Evaluate and report on change orders, trends, and potential cost impacts on the overall project budget.
- Assist in preparation of project progress reports, management presentations, and financial summaries.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC Cost Control and Estimation Procedures, standards, and corporate governance requirements.
- Provide cost-related input during project reviews, risk assessments, and forecasting sessions.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in cost engineering and project controls within the oil & gas industry.
- Mandatory ADNOC project experience (minimum one completed FEED or Detailed Design project for ADNOC Onshore / ADNOC Gas).
- Proven experience in Engineering Phase activities FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Detail Design.
- Proficiency in cost estimation and control software (e.g., Excel Advanced, SAP, EcoSys, Primavera Cost Manager, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
- Knowledge of ADNOC standards, estimation guidelines, and cost breakdown structures.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Immediate availability to join in Abu Dhabi.
- Experience in EPC / Engineering Consultancy environments on ADNOC projects.
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools (Primavera P6) for cost-schedule integration.
- Understanding of procurement, contracting, and tendering processes in engineering projects.
- Exposure to risk-based cost estimation and cost trending methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in Excel-based cost models and project reporting templates.
