Job description
What you will do

The Legal Counsel is a key role directly reporting to Regional Legal Director of Middle & East & Africa. You will be based in Dubai and will be responsible for providing legal advice and support in corporate legal matters.

As a Legal Counsel you will leverage your expertise to oversee the regional administration of largescale projects within the legal department. You will collaborate closely with both local and central legal teams to ensure that the departments best practices align with business objectives. Your responsibilities will include informing business personnel about company policies and practices conducting research analyzing information for decisionmaking and presenting concise summaries. Additionally you will assist in managing the legal intranet site and other electronic tools utilized by the Legal Department as well as supporting the management of outside counsel.

In this role you will contribute to the MEA Legal Departments mission of delivering highquality corporate legal services to internal clients throughout the region.

How you will do it
  • Prepare and organize documents to assist in corporate.
  • Perform company secretarial duties including resolutions powers of attorney license renewal.
  • File and update corporate files and documents both internally and with the relevant authorities ensuring corporate governance compliance.
  • Research and advice on jurisdictional laws and regulations in relation to corporate legal matters.
  • Assist the Legal Director in developing corporate documents letters legal opinions and notices which are referred to the legal department.
  • Assist in drafting and preparing power of attorneys and following up on their expiry date and renewal process.
  • Assist in preparing and drafting minutes of meetings of legal matters that are attended by the Legal Director when required.
  • Assist the legal department team in maintaining good corporate documents filing practice by updating the legal portal of the Legal Department.
  • Answer other department request and inquiries.
  • Prepare and draft general assembly meeting shareholder resolutions and minutes of shareholders meetings as the case may be under the supervision of the Legal Director.
  • Additional legal corporate duties as may be assigned by the Legal Director of the Legal Department.

What we look for
Required
  • 4year Bachelors Law Degree.
  • 3 years of experience as a Legal Counsel with a law firm or company inhouse law department.
  • Demonstrable experience with transactional and corporate legal work.
  • Experience supporting regulated business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of tools with specific experience in Power Point Excel and database creation and maintenance.
  • Processdriven detail oriented selfmotivated and analytical.
  • Effective oral and written communication and organization skills.
  • Selfstarter with good problemsolving skills and a client service focus.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English language.
