About the job Core Network Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities:

• Depending upon the assignment the jobholder performs all or any of the following provision/ maintenance & fault rectification functions in respect of the assigned telecom network elements.
• Carries out simple and routine provision/maintenance & fault rectification tasks in respect of the assigned telecom network elements; attends to the assigned major/non-routine tasks under supervision, guidance, assists in carrying out the prescribed test routines using different types of test equipment and follows up on the test results with support of seniors.
• Attends faults by following set procedures under guidance of immediate supervisor.
• Support for maintenance activities including stores issue, spares, tools, and equipment.
• Attends and clears circuit faults reported by NOCs etc. and reports the major faults to superiors for review and follow up.
• Assists in locating and clearing Junction F.O Cable Network faults and attends to assigned duties including call‑out attendance.
• Should be able to localise and rectify faults using test equipment.
• Maintain SQI and performs periodic maintenance as routine schedule.
• Keeps updating knowledge and skills in technologies with respect to related core & fixed networks equipment. Assists Fixed asset verification.
• Assists in locating and clearing Junction F.O Cable Network faults and attends to assigned duties including call‑out attendance.
• Attend ATP for New Nodes and Expansion in Network and clear ACL from the perspective of Maintenance Team.
• Responsible for the Acceptance of Newly installed ODFs and Junction Cables in The Network.

Requirements:

• Bachelors/ Degree/Diploma in Engineering/ Telecommunications/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 2‑4 years experience in field operation and maintenance of Telecom networks (Transport, IP Switching, Mobile) networks
