Job summary

The Greater Change in the United Arab Emirates seeks a hands-on Chief Operating Officer to lead the operational engine of a well-established engineering business. You will translate strategy into execution, drive operational efficiency, strengthen project delivery and foster sustainable profitability.

The COO will partner with shareholders and senior leadership to optimize resources, implement governance, and build a high-performance operating culture across the organization.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as COO or equivalent in project-based engineering.
• Experience leading organizations of 70–200 employees.
• Strong commercial mindset with a track record of winning and delivering profitable projects.
• Experience managing P&L, budgeting and cash flow.
• Experience preparing businesses for investment, acquisition or PE involvement is desirable.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the long-term growth strategy for the company.
• Lead revenue growth through strategic business development and project sales.
• Convert a healthy sales pipeline into profitable project wins.
• Drive operational excellence across engineering, project delivery and support functions.
• Improve project profitability through cost control and governance.
• Build scalable business systems, KPIs and performance management.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing leadership team.
• Strengthen financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Improve accountability and ownership across all departments.
• Lead organizational transformation towards a process-driven business.
• Establish strong governance and management reporting.
• Prepare the organization for future strategic investment, acquisition or exit opportunities.
• Represent the company with key customers, partners and stakeholders
