Job summary

Allocation Assist seeks an experienced Consultant Thoracic Surgeon to join a leading healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia. The candidate will bring extensive post-fellowship experience in thoracic surgery with expertise in complex procedures and minimally invasive techniques.

The role encompasses open, thoracoscopic and robotic approaches, with participation in multidisciplinary teams and duties spanning pre- and post-operative care, teaching, and clinical governance.

Qualifications

• Must hold a medical degree with specialist qualifications in Thoracic Surgery.
• Completion of a recognized sub-specialty fellowship in Thoracic Surgery.
• Five-plus years of post-fellowship experience preferred.
• Experience with complex thoracic surgical procedures is essential.
• Preferred: training or experience in robotic thoracic surgery.
• Experience with minimally invasive thoracic surgery (VATS) is highly desirable.
• Eligible for professional registration/licensing in Saudi Arabia (SCFHS).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality specialist care for patients with thoracic surgical conditions.
• Perform open, minimally invasive and thoracoscopic procedures.
• Manage complex thoracic and pulmonary conditions including thoracic malignancies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams across oncology, pulmonology, radiology and other specialties.
• Conduct outpatient consultations, pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Support teaching, training and mentoring of junior medical staff.

• Experience with minimally invasive thoracic surgery/VATS is highly desirable.
• Excellent clinical, communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Eligible for professional registration/licensing in Saudi Arabia (SCFHS).
