Job summary

Black Pearl Consult is seeking an experienced Consultant/Specialist Medical Oncologist in the UAE to provide specialist care and clinical leadership across oncology services.

The role involves diagnosing, planning and ongoing management of cancer patients, with exposure to a broad range of cases and modern systemic therapies in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Medical degree such as MBBS, MD or equivalent.
• Recognised specialist/board qualification in Medical Oncology.
• Minimum 3 years' post-specialist or post-board experience.
• Current clinical experience in medical oncology within a hospital/cancer centre.
• Experience managing systemic cancer therapies.
• Experience with chemotherapy and, ideally, immunotherapy, targeted therapies and hormonal treatments.
• Experience participating in multidisciplinary oncology teams and tumour boards.
• Strong clinical communication and patient-management skills.
• Eligibility for UAE medical licensing.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, assess and manage patients with a range of malignant diseases within scope.
• Develop individualised cancer treatment plans based on diagnosis, staging and guidelines.
• Prescribe, administer and monitor systemic cancer treatments.
• Monitor treatment response, adverse effects and toxicities.
• Review and modify treatment plans according to patient response and guidelines.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumour boards and oncology case discussions.
• Collaborate with surgical, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology and haemato-oncology teams.
• Provide patients and families with information regarding diagnosis, prognosis and treatment options.
• Coordinate referrals to other oncology services where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and EMR; ensure governance and patient safety.

Job Description

Black Pearl Consult is hiring an experienced Consultant or Specialist Medical Oncologist in the UAE, providing specialist care and clinical leadership across oncology services.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Medical Oncologist to work within a modern hospital environment providing comprehensive cancer care to a diverse international patient population.

The successful physician will work as part of a multidisciplinary oncology team alongsidesurgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, haematologists, palliative care specialists, oncology nurses and other clinical professionals.

The position offers exposure to a broad range of oncology cases and the opportunity to deliver evidence-based cancer treatment using modern systemic therapies.

The Role

The Medical Oncologist will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment planning and ongoing management of patients with cancer.

The role includes bothoutpatient oncology clinics and inpatient consultations, together with the assessment, prescribing and monitoring of systemic cancer treatments.

You will contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making and support patients and their families throughout diagnosis, active treatment and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, assess and manage patients with a range of malignant diseases, including solid tumours and selected haematological malignancies within your scope of practice.
  
• Develop individualised cancer treatment plans based on diagnosis, staging, patient characteristics and current clinical guidelines.
  
• Prescribe, administer and monitor systemic cancer treatments includingchemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and hormonal therapy.
  
• Monitor patients for treatment response, adverse effects, toxicities and complications associated with systemic cancer treatment.
  
• Review and modify treatment plans according to patient response and current evidence-based oncology guidelines.
  
• Participate inmultidisciplinary tumour boards and oncology case discussions.
  
• Work collaboratively with surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, haematology and supportive care teams.
  
• Provide patients and families with clear information regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, treatment risks and supportive care.
  
• Coordinate referrals to surgical oncology, radiation oncology, palliative care and other specialist services where clinically appropriate.
  
• Support continuity of care throughout active treatment, follow-up and survivorship.
  
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and electronic medical records.
  
• Follow hospital clinical governance, patient safety, medication safety and infection-control requirements.
  
• Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement, research and professional development activities.
  
• Maintain compliance with applicable UAE healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
  
• Contribute to the continued development of high-quality oncology services within the hospital.
  

Requirements
