Qualifications

• Must hold recognised specialist/board qualification in Medical Oncology.
• Minimum 3 years post-specialist/post-board experience.
• Current clinical experience in medical oncology in a hospital cancer centre or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a range of malignant diseases including solid tumours and selected haematological malignancies.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnosis and guidelines.
• Prescribe and monitor systemic cancer therapies (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted, hormonal).
• Monitor treatment response, adverse effects, and complications; adjust plans accordingly.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumour boards and coordinate with related specialties.
• Provide clear information to patients and families about diagnosis, options, and prognosis.
• Coordinate referrals to other oncology services where clinically appropriate.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure governance, safety, and infection-control standards.
• Contribute to audits, quality improvement projects and ongoing professional development.

Black Pearl Consult is hiring an experienced Consultant or Specialist Medical Oncologist in the UAE providing specialist care and clinical leadership across oncology services.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Medical Oncologist to work within a modern hospital environment providing comprehensive cancer care to a diverse international patient population.

The successful physician will work as part of a multidisciplinary oncology team alongside surgical oncologists radiation oncologists pathologists radiologists haematologists palliative care specialists oncology nurses and other clinical professionals.

The position offers exposure to a broad range of oncology cases and the opportunity to deliver evidence-based cancer treatment using modern systemic therapies.

The Role

The Medical Oncologist will be responsible for the diagnosis treatment planning and ongoing management of patients with cancer.

The role includes both outpatient oncology clinics and inpatient consultations together with the assessment prescribing and monitoring of systemic cancer treatments.

You will contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making and support patients and their families throughout diagnosis active treatment and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose assess and manage patients with a range of malignant diseases including solid tumours and selected haematological malignancies within your scope of practice.
  
• Develop individualised cancer treatment plans based on diagnosis staging patient characteristics and current clinical guidelines.
  
• Prescribe administer and monitor systemic cancer treatments including chemotherapy immunotherapy targeted therapy and hormonal therapy.
  
• Monitor patients for treatment response adverse effects toxicities and complications associated with systemic cancer treatment.
  
• Review and modify treatment plans according to patient response and current evidence-based oncology guidelines.
  
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumour boards and oncology case discussions.
  
• Work collaboratively with surgical oncology radiation oncology pathology radiology haematology and supportive care teams.
  
• Provide patients and families with clear information regarding diagnosis treatment options prognosis treatment risks and supportive care.
  
• Coordinate referrals to surgical oncology radiation oncology palliative care and other specialist services where clinically appropriate.
  
• Support continuity of care throughout active treatment follow-up and survivorship.
  
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and electronic medical records.
  
• Follow hospital clinical governance patient safety medication safety and infection-control requirements.
  
• Participate in clinical audit quality improvement research and professional development activities.
  
• Maintain compliance with applicable UAE healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
  
• Contribute to the continued development of high-quality oncology services within the hospital.
  

Requirements

We are interested in hearing from qualified Consultant or Specialist Medical Oncologists with a recognised specialist qualification in Medical Oncology.

Candidates should have:

• Medical degree such as MBBS MD or equivalent.
  
• Recognised specialist / board qualification in Medical Oncology.
  
• Minimum 3 years post-specialist or post-board experience.
  
• Current clinical experience in medical oncology within a hospital cancer centre tertiary-care hospital or comparable healthcare setting.
  
• Experience managing systemic cancer therapies.
  
• Experience with chemotherapy and ideally immunotherapy targeted therapies and hormonal treatments.
  
• Experience participating in multidisciplinary oncology teams and tumour boards.
  
• Strong clinical communication and patient-management skills.
  
• Commitment to evidence-based medicine and patient safety.
  
• Eligibility for the relevant UAE medical licensing requirements.
