Qualifications

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree.
• Postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine, followed by Rheumatology specialization.
• Board certification or equivalent consultant-level qualification.
• Internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage rheumatic diseases including RA, OA, SLE.
• Evaluate autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans using DMARDs and biologics.
• Perform joints procedures within privileges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists.
• Educate patients on disease management and lifestyle changes.
• Ensure DOH regulatory compliance and patient safety.

We're Hiring | Consultant Rheumatologist

Location: Abu Dhabi

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Rheumatologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in rheumatology, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory arthritis, and complex musculoskeletal disorders. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and other rheumatic diseases
• Evaluate and treat autoimmune disorders, inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, and vasculitis
• Manage patients with ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, and osteoporosis
• Develop individualized treatment plans using DMARDs, biologic therapies, immunosuppressants, and other evidence-based treatments
• Perform joint aspirations, intra-articular injections, and other rheumatology procedures, within authorized clinical privileges
• Interpret diagnostic investigations, including autoimmune profiles, inflammatory markers, musculoskeletal ultrasound, X-rays, and MRI
• Monitor disease progression, treatment effectiveness, and medication-related complications
• Provide comprehensive care for patients with chronic inflammatory and multisystem autoimmune conditions
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, nephrologists, dermatologists, pulmonologists, and other multidisciplinary specialists
• Educate patients regarding disease management, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and long-term care
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, rheumatology treatment guidelines, infection control, and patient safety standards

Requirements

• MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine, followed by appropriate specialization or subspecialty training in Rheumatology
• Board certification or equivalent recognized consultant-level qualification
• American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European, or other internationally recognized qualifications are highly desirable
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant post-specialization experience preferred
• Strong expertise in autoimmune disorders, inflammatory arthritis, biologic therapies, and complex rheumatological conditions
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Eligible for DOH Consultant Rheumatology classification/license in Abu Dhabi, subject to applicable UAE PQR requirements
