Job summary

Client of Dr Expat in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant in Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) to deliver expert critical care for infants, children and adolescents with life-threatening illnesses. You will manage complex cases, lead multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate treatment plans with surgeons, anesthesiologists and emergency teams in a modern tertiary healthcare environment.

The role requires MBBS with MD/DNB and Fellowship in PICU, at least five years of PICU consultancy

Qualifications

• MBBS with MD/DNB and Fellowship in Pediatric Intensive Care.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a PICU Consultant.
• Western Board or equivalent certification preferred.
• Valid UAE license or eligibility (DOH/DHA/MOH).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Manage patients requiring advanced ventilatory support.
• Hemodynamic monitoring and organ support.
• Diagnose and treat severe infections, sepsis, trauma, and respiratory failure.
• Perform PICU procedures including airway management and central venous access.
• Lead multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate treatment plans with healthcare teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations and emergency response services.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with UAE standards.
• Support quality improvement initiatives teaching and clinical governance activities.
