Job description

Position: Consultant Pediatric Neuro Oncologist in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Location: Dubai, UAE.

Salary: 80,000–110,000 (per annum, target range).

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage pediatric CNS tumors including medulloblastoma, ependymoma, gliomas, germ cell tumors, craniopharyngioma and other rare tumors.
• Lead patient‑specific treatment planning, integrating chemotherapy, targeted and immunotherapies, radiotherapy, and surgical coordination.
• Collaborate with radiation oncology and neurosurgery to support radiotherapy planning and operative strategy.
• Manage treatment‑related complications such as neurotoxicity, endocrinopathies, neurologic decline and long‑term survivorship concerns.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient care for new diagnoses, treatment monitoring, relapse assessment, and long‑term follow‑up.
• Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary case discussions, and coordinated decision‑making for high‑risk cases.
• Work closely with pediatric neurology, neurosurgery, medical oncology, radiology, pathology, rehabilitation, endocrinology, psychology, social work and child‑life teams.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and long‑term care plans clearly and compassionately to patients and families.
• Support shared decision‑making and help families understand therapy choices, clinical‑trial options and survivorship planning.
• Contribute to the development of pediatric neuro‑oncology services, including clinical protocols, treatment pathways, quality‑improvement initiatives and service expansion plans.
• Mentor junior physicians, fellows, residents, nurses and clinical staff involved in pediatric oncology and neuro‑oncology care.
• Participate in clinical trials, research initiatives, case reports, publications, academic conferences and evidence‑based practice development.
• Teach medical students, residents and fellows within the pediatric oncology program.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, treatment records, consent notes, tumor‑board recommendations and compliance with hospital policies.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree (MD, MBBS, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Board certification in Pediatric Oncology, Pediatric Hematology‑Oncology or equivalent specialty.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Neuro‑Oncology from a recognized center.
• Minimum 8‑10 years of post‑specialization experience in pediatric neuro‑oncology practice.
• Expertise in managing complex pediatric CNS tumors, rare tumors and advanced therapies.
• Strong background in chemotherapy, targeted and immunotherapies and tumor‑board participation.
• Experience collaborating with pediatric neurosurgery, radiology, pathology, neurology and allied‑health teams.
• Research, publication or clinical‑trial involvement strongly preferred.
• Leadership ability to contribute to service development, protocol design and program expansion.
• Excellent communication skills for clear, sensitive discussion with families.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic language ability an advantage.
