First Medical Center in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant in Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) to lead the care of critically ill children in a premium private hospital.

You will oversee life-support therapies, coordinate with pediatric subspecialists and drive clinical governance, education, and patient safety within UAE licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Recognized specialist qualification in Pediatrics with PICU subspecialty training.
• Consultant-level experience in pediatric critical care.
• Eligibility for, or an active licence from, UAE health authority.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.

Responsabilités

• Assess and manage critically ill infants, children and adolescents.
• Lead stabilization and treatment of respiratory failure, sepsis, shock and neurological emergencies.
• Oversee ventilatory support, organ-support therapies and critical-care monitoring.
• Coordinate emergency interventions and multidisciplinary treatment plans.
• Supervise clinical teams and ensure safe intensive care delivery.
• Communicate with parents about condition and options.
• Participate in rounds, handovers and clinical audits.
• Ensure infection-control and patient-safety guidelines are followed.
• Support ongoing PICU service improvement.

Overview

A premium private hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant in Pediatric Intensive Care to manage critically ill and injured children requiring advanced monitoring and life-support interventions The role requires strong clinical leadership rapid decision-making and effective coordination with pediatric subspecialists emergency teams surgeons nurses and allied healthcare professionals

Clinical Responsibilities

• Assess and manage critically ill infants children and adolescents
• Lead the stabilization and treatment of patients with respiratory failure sepsis shock neurological emergencies and other life-threatening conditions
• Oversee advanced monitoring ventilatory support and organ-support therapies within the scope of clinical privileges
• Coordinate emergency interventions and multidisciplinary treatment plans
• Supervise and support clinical teams in the delivery of safe intensive care
• Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding the patient s condition treatment options and clinical progress
• Participate in critical-care rounds handovers morbidity and mortality reviews and clinical audits
• Ensure adherence to infection-control protocols patient-safety policies and clinical guidelines
• Support continuous improvement in PICU clinical practice and service delivery

Recognized specialist qualification in Pediatrics and appropriate subspecialty training in Pediatric Intensive Care. Consultant-level experience in pediatric critical care, consistent with UAE licensing requirements. Eligibility for, or an active licence from, the relevant UAE health authority, as required. Demonstrated competence in managing complex pediatric emergencies and critically ill patients. Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary coordination skills. Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety.
