Job summary

NMC GROUP SERVICES is seeking a consultant-level orthopedic surgeon to provide comprehensive patient care, including pre- and post-operative management, in both OPD and hospital settings. The role requires collaboration with physicians and specialists, adherence to UAE regulations, and meticulous record-keeping.

The successful candidate will hold a basic medical degree with recognised fellowship/diploma, active life-support certifications, and 3–5 years of post-qualification experience.

Qualifications

• Must have completed medical degree and recognised higher education programme (fellowship/diploma).
• At least 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience at consultant level (independent of country).
• At least 1 year consultant level experience from a Tier 1 country as specified by UAE regulator.
• Certification and registration in a speciality recognised by UAE healthcare authority.
• Active and valid life-support certification (e.g. BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthopedic care to assigned patients including pre- and post-operative care.
• Perform professional duties at OPD where outpatient orthopedic care is rendered.
• Consult with physicians and other surgeons on in- or outpatient cases as required.
• Assume after-hours responsibility for care of admitted orthopedic cases and daily rounds.
• Adhere to bylaws, rules and regulations and ensure work meets Joint Commission standards.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of all assigned cases.
• Determine proper surgical and related services and when new techniques are used.
• Ensure availability of special equipment and supplies as needed.

Provides consultation services to physicians and other surgeons and specialists on in-or out-patient cases if and when required

Assumes after hours responsibility for the care of admitted orthopedic cases and makes daily rounds for those hospitalized

Adheres to the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the medical department and assures that work performed is in keeping with the established standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of hospitals

Consults with anesthetist on the choice of anesthesia to be used

Maintains complete and accurate records of all assigned cases

Keeps informed as to current developments in the field of orthopedic

Determines which surgical and related services procedures are proper to undertake and when new techniques will be utilized

Determines requirements and initiates action to assure availability of special equipment and supplies

Utilizes and monitors to assure the use supporting services Nursing Operations Support Pathology Radiology in a timely efficient and cost-effective manner

Qualified and licensed Medical PractitionerAt least 3-5 years’ post qualification experience at consultant level (independent of country)
