Role Description

This full-time, on-site role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hand and shoulder arthroscopy. The consultant will perform advanced orthopedic and arthroscopic procedures on the hand, wrist, shoulder, and upper extremity, including diagnostics, surgical interventions, and post-operative management. Daily responsibilities include conducting patient consultations, interpreting imaging and diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and providing both operative and non-operative care. The role also involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, adhering to local healthcare regulations, and participating in quality improvement and clinical governance activities. Teaching, mentoring junior staff, and staying current with evidence-based practices in orthopedic surgery and arthroscopy are expected components of the position.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Medicine, with comprehensive knowledge of clinical assessment, diagnostics, and patient management.
• Advanced expertise in Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedics, particularly focused on hand, shoulder, and upper extremity conditions.
• Proficiency in Surgery and arthroscopic techniques, including minimally invasive procedures and post-operative care.
• Specialized experience in Spine or musculoskeletal disorders is an advantage, supporting holistic orthopedic care.
• Recognized medical degree and completed specialist training in Orthopedic Surgery (Board certification or equivalent).
• Valid or eligibility for UAE/Gulf region medical licensing (e.g., DHA, DOH/HAAD, MOH), with support available for licensing processes.
• Demonstrated experience at consultant level or equivalent in hand and shoulder arthroscopy within a reputable healthcare facility.
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills, with commitment to patient safety and ethical practice.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to regional healthcare regulations and standards.
