We Care Group in Dubai is seeking a Consultant Ophthalmology for a full-time, on-site role. The consultant will provide comprehensive ophthalmic care including outpatient consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and management of a wide range of eye conditions.

Day-to-day responsibilities include performing ophthalmic procedures and surgeries as appropriate, interpreting diagnostic tests, and creating evidence-based treatment plans.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent and specialist ophthalmology training required.
• Board certification or registration with eligibility for UAE licensing is required.
• Strong diagnostic and decision-making abilities with ophthalmic imaging interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and management of a wide range of eye conditions.

Role Description

The Consultant Ophthalmology role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dubai. The consultant will provide comprehensive ophthalmic care, including outpatient consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and management of a wide range of eye conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing ophthalmic procedures and surgeries as appropriate, interpreting diagnostic tests, and creating evidence-based treatment plans. The role also involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supervising junior medical staff where applicable, and maintaining accurate medical records in line with regulatory standards. The consultant will contribute to clinical governance activities, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and support patient education to enhance outcomes and experience.

Qualifications

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and completion of specialist training in Ophthalmology.
• Board certification or equivalent specialist registration in Ophthalmology, with eligibility for licensing in the United Arab Emirates.
• Proven clinical experience in diagnosing and managing common and complex ophthalmic conditions, including surgical and non-surgical interventions.
• Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills, including proficiency in interpreting ophthalmic imaging and test results.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, and adherence to local regulatory and clinical governance standards.
• Ability to work full time on-site in Dubai, with flexibility to participate in on-call duties as required.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, or supervising junior clinicians or allied health professionals is an advantage.
