Gastroenterologist Duties and Responsibilities

1. Consulting with patients to understand their health concerns.
2. Consulting with a patient's primary doctor.
3. Analysing patient historical data.
4. Performing specialised tests to diagnose patients.
5. Determining proper courses of treatment.
6. Performing endoscopic procedures to inspect internal organs.
7. Performing X-Ray, MRI, and ultrasound scanning.
8. Performing surgery in the digestive tract.
9. Consulting with other specialists such as oncologists in the case of cancer.

Gastroenterologist Requirements / Skills / Qualifications

1. Medical degree.
2. Completion of a three-year work experience in this stream.
3. Completion of Gastroenterology specialisation degree.
4. Attention to detail.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Good interpersonal skills.
7. Proficiency in performing endoscopic and colonoscopy procedures.
8. Proficiency with X-Rays, MRIs, and ultrasound scanning.
