Taaleem is seeking an experienced Construction & Technical Manager to join our Projects team in the UAE. You will oversee construction management, technical coordination, authority approvals, and project handover for school development projects, ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and budget adherence.

The role requires strong school design and construction experience, ability to manage consultants and contractors, resolve technical issues, and support design development and value engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 12–15 years of experience in construction management and technical project delivery.
• Proven experience in school design and construction, managing educational projects through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Experience resolving complex technical issues and coordinating with consultants and contractors.

Are you an experienced construction professional with a passion for delivering high-quality educational facilities? Taaleem is looking for an experienced Construction & Technical Manager to join our Projects team and oversee the technical delivery of our school development projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for construction management, technical coordination, authority approvals, and project handover, while supporting design development, value engineering and improvements to future school projects based on lessons learned.

We are looking for someone with strong school design and construction experience, technical expertise and commercial awareness who can effectively manage consultants and contractors, resolve technical challenges, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Management & Technical Coordination

• Oversee school construction projects, including progress, quality, program, technical compliance and overall delivery.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Manage construction-stage technical issues, design clarifications, risks and variations.
• Monitor project delivery and ensure timely resolution of site challenges.
• Review construction methodologies, technical submissions and programme impacts.

Authority Coordination & Approvals

• Coordinate and monitor authority submissions, NOCs and approvals.
• Support consultants in resolving authority comments and compliance requirements.
• Monitor approval timelines, construction permits, inspections and final clearances.

Project Completion & Handover

• Oversee project completion, testing, commissioning, snagging and technical handover.
• Coordinate operational readiness with Facilities Management, IT and School Operations.
• Ensure completion of handover documentation and statutory approvals.
• Manage technical close-out and Defects Liability Period (DLP) requirements.

Design Management & Value Engineering Support

• Support the design management process from project brief through concept and detailed design.
• Provide construction-stage lessons learned and technical feedback to improve future school designs.
• Support value engineering, cost optimization and buildability reviews.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate overengineering, unnecessary design complexity and recurring construction issues.
• Support the implementation of Taaleem's standard design specifications and operational requirements.

Who Are We Looking For

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum 12–15 years of relevant experience in construction management and technical project delivery.
• Proven experience in school design and construction, including managing educational projects through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Experience in resolving complex technical issues, managing consultants and contractors, and controlling construction variations.

Competencies

• Strong understanding of school design requirements, architectural, structural and MEP systems, and construction coordination.
• Good knowledge of UAE authority approvals, construction regulations and project delivery processes.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
