Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Commissioning Superintendent for a MEGA EPC project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with procedures, and guiding the project team. Ideal candidates will have at least 20 years of experience in commissioning, preferably in the GCC region, and strong leadership skills in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects. This position is critical for ensuring successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in commissioning or operation readiness, preferably in the GCC region.
• At least 5 years in a similar position in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, especially in commissioning sour gas or hydrogen production.
• Experience leading commissioning for Sales Gas & Condensate areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to the commissioning team, EPC contractors, and sub-contractors.
• Coordinate with Licensors and Vendors for commissioning activities.
• Monitor commissioning progress and ensure compliance with contractual documents.
• Review commissioning manuals and advise Sr. Commissioning Manager.
• Participate in commissioning meetings and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor and approve closeout of punch lists.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements during handover.

Overview

Commissioning Superintendent (Rotating) with Offshore Site experience is required for a MEGA EPC project based in Abu Dhabi. The role is for a PMC project.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to the commissioning team, EPC contractors, and sub-contractors within area of responsibility.
• Coordinate with Licensors and Vendors to ensure commissioning activities follow their procedures.
• Monitor the progress of commissioning activities and ensure compliance with related contractual documents.
• Review pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures; advise and support Sr. Commissioning Manager; review commissioning manuals issued by EPC contractors or vendors; verify mechanical completion certificate requirements for various systems and subsystems.
• Participate in commissioning meetings and troubleshooting analyses to resolve obstacles; verify readiness of systems/subsystems for MC and RFSU certificate issuance.
• Monitor and approve the closeout of punch lists and ensure the completion and handover methodology proceeds.
• Ensure alignment with project requirements and ensure handover is in compliance with contractual documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (MUST).
• Minimum of twenty (20) years of relevant experience in commissioning / operation readiness, with preference for GCC region experience.
• At least five (5) years in a similar position in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, with preference for commissioning sour gas, hydrogen production, hydrodesulfurization projects.
• Experience leading commissioning for Sales Gas & Condensate areas is desired.
