Join our culinary team as a Commis I specializing in South Indian Cuisine in the vibrant city of Dubai United Arab Emirates. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to assist in the preparation and cooking of authentic South Indian dishes in our bustling kitchen.

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for South Indian dishes including washing peeling chopping and measuring
  • Support senior chefs in cooking and plating South Indian specialties
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly
  • Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
  • Participate in kitchen cleaning and sanitation tasks
  • Learn and adapt to new cooking techniques and recipes
  • Contribute to a positive and teamwork-oriented kitchen environment
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
  • Knowledge of South Indian cuisine ingredients and cooking techniques
  • Proficiency in knife skills and food preparation techniques
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices; food safety certification (e.g. ServSafe) preferred
  • Basic math skills for recipe measurements and conversions

  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Additional Information
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the same or similar role
  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Fluency in English additional languages are a plus
