What will I be doing?

A Commis Chef is responsible for preparing and presenting high‑quality desserts, bakery items, and pastries to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while consistently contributing to departmental targets.

  • Prepare and assist with baking cakes, pastries, breads, desserts, and specialty items.
  • Support daily mise‑en‑place for all pastry and bakery operations.
  • Follow established recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards.
  • Set up and stock pastry stations before service.
  • Handle basic baking tasks such as dough preparation, piping, glazing, decorating, and molding.
  • Operate pastry equipment safely (mixers, ovens, proofers, chocolate tempering tools, etc.).
  • Ensure proper labeling, dating, storage, and rotation (FIFO) of all ingredients.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures (HACCP standards).
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and tools throughout the shift.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
