Job summary

Sunset Hospitality Group in Dubai is seeking an experienced Commis 1 for L’Amo Bistro del Mare to join its culinary team. You will prepare ingredients, complete mise en place, and assist senior chefs in service.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of professional kitchen experience, with Commis 1 or strong Commis 2 background, plus Italian and Mediterranean cuisine know‑how. A background in upscale, fine‑dining or high‑volume settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of professional kitchen experience.
• Experience as a Commis 1 or strong Commis 2.
• Experience in Italian and Mediterranean cuisine.
• Background in an upscale, fine-dining or high-volume restaurant.
• Good knowledge of food preparation, kitchen hygiene and basic cooking techniques.
• Strong teamwork, organisation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and dishes according to approved recipes and standards.
• Complete mise en place accurately and on time before service.
• Support the Chef de Partie and senior chefs during preparation and service.
• Maintain consistency in taste, portioning and presentation.
• Handle and store seafood and other ingredients safely.
• Monitor freshness, labeling and stock rotation.
• Maintain a clean, organized and properly stocked workstation.
• Follow HACCP, hygiene and food-safety requirements.
• Minimize waste and use ingredients responsibly.
• Support other kitchen sections when required.
