Job Summary
The Commercial Officer will support the company’s commercial operations, including supplier coordination, contract follow-ups, pricing support, and commercial documentation. The role involves assisting with Letters of Credit (LC) and trade-related transactions while ensuring accurate documentation and smooth coordination with suppliers, internal teams, and external stakeholders across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day commercial activities, including preparation of quotations, commercial proposals, and price comparisons.
- Review contract terms, commercial conditions, and payment terms.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as procurement, finance, and logistics to ensure project alignment.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and clients regarding offers, deliveries, and documentation.
- Request, evaluate, and compare supplier offers; negotiate basic commercial terms.
- Follow up on delivery schedules and supplier commitments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Prepare, review, and manage commercial documentation including: Proforma Invoices, Purchase Orders, Delivery Notes, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Quality, and other required documents.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized commercial files for audit and reference.
- Assist in reviewing incoming Letters of Credit (LCs) and support the Finance/LC team with documentation requirements.
- Prepare draft documents for LC presentation such as invoices, packing lists, and COO requests.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, inspection companies, and customs brokers as required.
- Collect market intelligence, supplier price lists, and competitor data.
- Assist management with commercial reports and performance analysis.
- Support identification of new suppliers and business opportunities.
- Prepare weekly reports on order status, commercial activities, and supplier communication.
- Maintain structured records of commercial correspondence, offers, and contracts.
- Provide general administrative support to the commercial department as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in commercial operations, procurement, trade, or sales support.
- Experience in the GCC or Middle East region is preferred.
- Exposure to LC documentation and international trade is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of commercial and trade documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft professional emails.
